THE ORIGIN OF FMMG

FMMG originated in Ghana at Old Tafo - Kumasi, about 17years ago. In 1996 a group of catechism children formed a Society called Children of Mary led by their Catechism Teacher "Uncle"(now a Catholic Benedictine Monk) with the intention of imitating the virtues of Mary Mother of God and the lives of the saints.

They come together twice every week to study the Holy Scriptures and the lives of the Saints.

They pray Holy Rosary everyday as their assignment for the world peace, priests, sick people, souls in purgatory, conversion of sinners and all those that needs their prayers. They go to hospitals every Sundays to visit the sick and console them and assists parish works.

In August 1996, they went to Buoho Grotto of our Lady of Lourdes in Kumasi, for 3 days Retreat on the Occasion of Mary Assumption Feast.

During their retreat, they were all filled with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit; some of them had the gift of vision, healing, prophecy and so forth.

The Blessed Virgin Mary spoke to them through a 12 year old girl among them. She told them to "pray the Holy Rosary everyday for peace, conversion of sinners and the souls in purgatory."  

When they returned to their parish, many children joined the Society and they extended the society to the other parishes in the Diocese.

The following month in September 27th 1996, they went for another 3 days retreat at Abono Grotto for the preparation of the Rosary month program.

At the Grotto they were Blessed with many Graces and Revelations. The Blessed Virgin Mary said to them:

"I wish one day all my children come together as one FAMILY and pray Rosary with me. Meet always and pray the Rosary "

When they returned to their parish, in October they led the Rosary program of the parish and there were manifestation from Jesus and Mary and that converted many people as their parish priest gave a testimony that during that Rosary program, he spent hours listing to confession and people cry for their sins whereas previously only few people comes to confession. And so he supported and encouraged them.

The pioneers grew up and  some of them have become priests and Religious Sisters and some have married, others have traveled Abroad.

On the 27th March 2012, the leader was in Rome for his Monastic Formator's course and he saw 4 LETTERS (FMMG) he prayed for the meaning and our Lady told him: "it means FAMILY OF MARY MOTHER OF GOD, gather all my children and bring them together as one FAMILY! 

(He thought it was impossible to bring the scattered members in U.S.A, EUROPE and GHANA together as "ONE FAMILY", but with God all things are possible!)

Exactly one year! On the 27th March 2013, one of them living in U.S.A suggested to the leader that they do a NOVENA together and the leader informed other members living in Europe and U.S.A. So 13 of them started their first NOVENA to the Divine Mercy on internet.

After their first NOVENA they decided to continue every month, and so the following month they did a second NOVENA to the IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY. It was during this NOVENA that the Blessed Mother of God revealed many things to them:

• Why She chose 13 of them in reference to the Fatima apparition on 13th of every month
• The year 2013 that She want them to form FMMG and include all her children, as She showed the 4 Letters to the leader in March 2012. 
• In that NOVENA, She also granted their prayer requests; Some of them miraculously received their "permit papers" and many more. They were convinced that the Mother of God has really visited them!

Their 3rd NOVENA was to the Holy Spirit in preparation for Pentecost Feast and that brought renewal of their Gifts and graces.

Now, what are the VISION of FMMG? ..

The FMMG intend to build A "CITY OF MARY" in Kumasi-Ghana where the Mother of God showed their Leader a LAND written "City of Mary" in 2008 where both Religious and Laity were praying together in a chapel whiles he was praying Rosary on the road side....
